Today, we’ll cover the 3 toxic myths about success that everyone MUST break away from in order to achieve what they want.

Getting your mindset right is the #1 thing you have to conquer if you want to succeed in living a happier, healthier life. As the popular saying goes, “You are your worst enemy and best asset“.

From serving hundreds of clients from all walks of life over the last 13 years, I can tell you that the best and most successful individuals are those with the right mindset and attitude, who have the right beliefs about success.

It’s myth-busters time! Time to re-align your perspectives and make things right.

Myth#1: “I can be successful without asking for help”

Refusing to ask for help comes from a lack of self-acceptance. There is a false belief that you’re not good enough in some way, so you try and prove it wrong by attempting the impossible task of doing it all. Ironically, this approach only reinforces the belief that you’re “not enough” because you spread yourself too thin and don’t end up doing anything properly!

It’s a common misconception for people to think that they’re “weak”, a “burden”, just “whinging” or that they’re “not coping” if they reach out to others. For some, asking for help may even be difficult because it can feel like a loss of control for them.

If you relate to any of above, I’m here to reassure you that we ALL need help at one point or another. What differentiates successful people from others is that they’re focused on their priorities and accept support for their limitations (health problems, lack of technical/professional knowledge, low priority tasks, time management etc) that get in the way of their progress rather than seeing it as a reflection of inadequacy.

Myth#2: “I need to be perfect”

This is SO not true.

NOBODY is perfect.

This limiting belief tends to come from comparing ourselves to others. I say this all the time to my clients, “We see the show, not the production. What you perceive in others whether it’s their happiness or success is a result of a lot of ongoing work and challenges that’s led them to that point. Your mind could also be deceiving, leading you to believe that everyone else is superior and that you have to meet those “perfect” standards in order to be successful.

What others are doing is out of your control and trying to control that is a colossal waste of time and energy that could’ve been used to create your dream life! What you can control is your own competition and the only comparing you need to do is with your own progress.

Chasing perfection keeps you idle in meaningless details that only distract you from getting closer to your goals. Embrace your imperfections to continue taking steps forward because you can always learn from mistakes and make improvements on the way to your success.

I have personally had clients who are students, parents, employees, CEOs or business owners who still made it work, so I know that you can too!

Myth#3: “I’m too lazy”

I can totally understand why someone would believe in this as I’ve been there myself, but I have seen time and again that there’s no such thing as actual laziness.

I don’t see laziness in my clients. What I do see is exhausted minds and bodies due to the sheer amount of chronic pressure they’re under. I see people being unclear about how to prioritise their values. I see the fear of failure. I see people pushing through their pain, ignoring their body’s cry for help. I see people that are way too hard on themselves. I see people that are yet to learn the skills to overcome procrastination.

Many people succumb to the belief that they’re lazy, that it’s just part of their personality. Maybe it’s because they’ve been told that they’re lazy throughout their lives or maybe it’s because of their own judgement as a result of one of the reasons above.

The good news is that you can be as energetic or driven as you want…IF you are willing to explore the cause behind your “laziness” and act on some changes.

Why Is Believing These 3 Myths Problematic?

Because believing in these 3 myths will stop you from taking action, the right actionYour confidence gets affected, you don’t seek guidance, and subsequently, you don’t transform your life as a result.

As someone who elevates health and happiness for a living, I have seen breakthrough after breakthrough and I know that is not difficult to experience, people just don’t have the right guidance to make things happen when it comes to success.

Many people search for information online fruitlessly, and when that doesn’t work, they give up. I don’t want you to give up because I know you can do this!

How else will there be millions of people who have achieved what they want to achieve if it was so hard? Are they all geniuses? No… they did it by getting the right help, letting go of being perfect, transforming self-destructive beliefs and through pure hard work!

It’s normal to experience some self-doubt, just don’t let it keep you down. You can do this!

That’s all I have for today, but if you’re keen bust those myths, I can show you exactly how to do that with personalised strategies. Sign up to my transformative online course 7 Steps To Overcome Fear and Win At Lifeand achieve your version of success now!
